A coaching funnel is the path from a stranger to a paying client: an ad or a post, a page, a way in, a booked call, follow-up and a way to pay. What it costs depends far more on how many of those parts you need, and who builds them, than on which software you pick.

The short answer
  • Tools: typically $17-$200 a month for a funnel builder or all-in-one platform, scheduling and email.
  • Done-for-you build: usually $1,000-$5,000, depending on how many parts and whether copy and tracking are included.
  • A coach selling through discovery calls may not need a funnel builder at all.
  • The expensive mistakes are the missing parts: no qualification, no reminders, no follow-up, no tracking.
  • Prove the offer with a simple page before paying for a full build.

What a coaching funnel needs besides ads covers each part in detail. For the steps around the call, see qualification questions, why discovery calls no-show and how fast to follow up a lead.

A funnel we built, part by part

For a life coach and author selling books and coaching in two currencies, we built the whole funnel: a chapter preview that captures the email, checkout with order bumps, a post-purchase offer, one recovery email for checkouts left unfinished for 45 minutes, and payment plans for coaching. 68% of single-book checkouts add the second book through the order bump, and every order since August has been reported to Meta from the server. There are no revenue figures on the case study, by the client's choice.

That's at the top end of what a coach needs. Most coaches who sell through discovery calls need a page, a booking step with qualification, reminders, follow-up and tracking, which is far less to build.

How to spend less

Ways to keep the cost down
  • Use what you already pay for. Most website builders, email platforms and scheduling tools can do the job before you add a funnel builder.
  • Build one offer's funnel first, and copy it once it works.
  • Write the copy yourself, in your own words, and pay for the build and tracking.
  • Skip features you won't use in the next six months: memberships, communities, affiliate programs.
  • Decide what a booked call is worth before you pay for traffic. Cost per booked call for coaches shows how.

We build coaching funnels at a fixed price, in your own accounts: the landing page, the follow-up and checkout systems, or a full coaching website. The marketing for coaches guide shows how they fit with the ads.

Questions people ask

How much does a sales funnel cost for a coach?

The tools usually cost $17-$200 a month. A done-for-you build usually runs $1,000-$5,000 from a freelancer or agency. Our landing pages run $1,200-$2,500, and full follow-up and checkout setups $1,200-$4,000.

Is ClickFunnels or Kajabi cheaper?

On the vendors' published prices, ClickFunnels starts at $81 a month billed yearly and Kajabi at $143, so ClickFunnels is cheaper to start. Compare on what you'll actually use: Kajabi bundles courses and memberships, while funnel builders focus on pages and checkout.

Do coaches need a funnel builder at all?

Not always. A coach who sells through discovery calls needs a page per offer, a booking step with qualifying questions, reminders and follow-up email. Your website, a scheduling tool and an email platform can do all of that without a funnel builder.

What should a funnel build include?

The landing page and its copy, the way in (a call, a chapter, a workshop), qualification before the calendar, reminders, follow-up emails, checkout or payment plans if you sell online, and tracking that reports bookings and sales to your ads.

What are the hidden costs of a coaching funnel?

Payment processing fees, extra contacts on your email plan as the list grows, a scheduling tool's paid tier, copywriting, and the time to fix things that break. Ad spend is on top of all of it.

When is a funnel build not worth it?

When the offer hasn't sold yet. A booking link and a simple page will tell you faster whether people want it. We're not the right fit if there's no proven offer, or no one to take the calls the funnel books.
