Quick to launch.
Built to scale.
Shopify makes it easy to open a store and surprisingly easy to end up with a slow one - twenty apps, four analytics scripts and a theme three developers have edited. We build stores that stay fast as they grow, and we rescue the ones that didn't.
What does your store
need doing?
A new brand launching, a store migrating off Magento, and an established shop whose theme has been patched for four years need completely different work. Find which one you are - that's what we scope.
Launched properly, once
A store built on a clean Online Store 2.0 foundation with content modelled in metafields rather than hardcoded into templates, so your team can change things later without a developer. Launching fast is easy; launching in a way you don't have to redo in a year is the actual job.
Off Magento, WooCommerce or custom
URL mapping and redirects planned before anything moves, so you keep the rankings you spent years earning. Products, customers, orders and subscriptions migrated with a rehearsal run first. Most migration horror stories are redirect stories.
Usually the app stack
Nine times out of ten a slow Shopify store is not the theme, it is fourteen apps each injecting scripts on every page. We measure what each one actually costs, remove what is not earning its place, and defer the rest.
Fixing the leak, not the paint
Product page structure, cart and checkout friction, mobile payment flows, and the specific steps where your analytics says people give up. We would rather fix one real leak than redesign a page that was converting fine.
Your conversions aren't broken.
Your app stack is.
Every Shopify founder we talk to says a version of the same thing: "the store feels slow and I don't know why." It is almost never one thing. Here's what's usually underneath - and what a properly built Shopify store does instead.
What's slowing the store down
- Fourteen apps injecting scripts on every page, several of which nobody uses any more
- Three analytics tools measuring the same thing and disagreeing about all of it
- A theme edited directly by four developers, with no version control and no way back
- App subscriptions quietly totalling more per month than the development would have cost
- Hero images uploaded at full resolution and resized in the browser
- Content hardcoded into templates, so every copy change needs a developer
- A checkout with avoidable friction on mobile, where most of the traffic actually is
- No staging environment, so every change is tested in production on live customers
What we build instead
- An app audit that prices each one in both subscription cost and page weight
- Scripts deferred or removed, with speed measured before and after so the gain is real
- A clean Online Store 2.0 theme under version control, with a staging environment
- Content modelled in metafields and sections, so your team edits without a developer
- Images sized, compressed and served responsively rather than resized in the browser
- One source of truth for analytics, with server-side tracking where it earns its place
- Checkout and mobile payment flows tested on real devices, not just in a simulator
- Documentation, so the next person to touch the store is not starting from scratch
The founders we work with.
Here's what founders say after working with us - unfiltered.
They built our Shopify store from sketch to polish, and the ads keep bringing in people who actually appreciate the product. Fast, thoughtful, no guessing games. For a brand that sweats the small stuff, having a partner who gets that is a big deal.
Our old site was clunky and our ads were bleeding cash. Their team stepped in, rebuilt everything, and suddenly shoppers could buy without any fuss. They explain the numbers in plain language and always lay out the next move. First agency that's truly felt like part of our crew.
NCMborz rebuilt our site, then unleashed focused Meta and Google ads that filled coaching calendars fast. Branding, traffic, engagement, revenue - every dot now connects and we speak to ideal students. They made bold decisions feel easy with calm, data-backed reasoning.
Six systems.
One fast store.
This is the exact build order for every Shopify engagement we take on - whether it's a launch, a migration or a rescue. Skip any one of these and the rest stops working.
Pricing, scoped to you.
No fixed packages. We scope the work to what your store actually needs - a launch, a migration or a rescue - then quote it on the call – so you only pay for what you actually need.
- Month-to-month · No setup fees · No long-term contracts
- Scoped to the build, migration or rescue in front of us – not a fixed package
- You own the store, the theme and the code
ALL PRICES IN USD · PROJECT WORK QUOTED SEPARATELY FROM RETAINERS
NCMborz vs. the alternatives
You've got options. Here's how we stack up against what most Shopify founders try first.
Here's exactly what you get.
No mystery, no "we'll get back to you." Every stage below ends with something delivered - and you see the store on staging long before anyone else sees it live.
Strategy call & access
A 30-minute call to work out whether this is a launch, a migration or a rescue, what has already been tried, and what has to be true on launch day. Store and analytics access requested within 24 hours.
Audit & plan
Real-device speed measured, app stack priced in weight and subscription cost, theme modifications catalogued, analytics checked. For a migration, URL mapping starts here rather than at the end.
Build on staging
Everything built and reviewed on staging, never on the live store. You see progress as it happens rather than at a reveal, and change requests are cheapest at this stage.
Launch & monitor
Redirects verified, rankings watched, speed re-measured against the baseline, and a handover document so your team can run the store without calling us for a copy change.
We get asked these every week.
Our Shopify store is slow. Is it the theme?
Usually not, or not mainly. In most stores we audit, the largest share of page weight comes from apps injecting scripts on every page - including apps installed for a trial two years ago and never removed. We measure what each one costs before recommending anything, because removing four unused apps often does more than any amount of theme optimization, and it lowers your monthly bill at the same time.
Should we use a premium theme or a custom build?
A good premium theme is the right answer more often than agencies like to admit, particularly for a first store. Custom becomes worth it when you have genuinely unusual merchandising, a complex product configurator, or performance requirements a general-purpose theme cannot meet. We will tell you honestly which side of that line you are on, including when the answer means less work for us.
Can you migrate us from WooCommerce or Magento?
Yes, and the part that matters most is the least visible: URL mapping and redirects. Products, customers and orders all move reliably with the right tooling. Rankings do not, unless every old URL has a deliberate destination. We plan redirects before anything moves and rehearse the migration on staging first.
Will we lose our SEO rankings?
Not if the migration is planned properly, though expect a short period of volatility while search engines process the change. The losses people describe after a replatform are almost always redirect failures - old URLs returning 404s, or everything redirected to the homepage, which passes almost nothing. Mapping every URL to its closest equivalent is unglamorous and it is the whole game.
How many apps is too many?
There is no clean number - one badly built app can cost more than six well-built ones. The question is whether each app earns its place in both subscription cost and page weight. We audit them on those two axes, and the total monthly subscription bill is frequently a bigger surprise to founders than the speed finding.
Do we need Shopify Plus?
Only if you need what it actually adds - checkout extensibility, higher API limits, scripts, or the volume where the fee becomes cheaper than transaction rates. Plenty of stores on Plus would be equally well served on Shopify at a fraction of the cost. We will do that arithmetic with you rather than assume the upgrade.
How long does a build take?
A straightforward build on a clean foundation is typically two to four weeks. A migration with a large catalogue and redirect mapping runs four to eight. A rescue depends entirely on what the audit finds - sometimes the highest-value work is a week of removals rather than a rebuild at all.
Do you do ongoing work or just projects?
Both. Some clients want a build and a handover, which is a legitimate outcome and we document accordingly. Others keep us on for ongoing conversion, speed and feature work. Project work is quoted separately from retainers so the two never blur into each other.
Can our team edit the site afterwards?
That is a design goal rather than an afterthought. Content goes into metafields and Online Store 2.0 sections so copy, imagery and layout can be changed by whoever runs your store. If you need a developer to change a headline, the build was done badly.
Do you handle the ads and SEO too?
We do, and there is a real advantage in the build and the acquisition being handled by people who talk to each other - tracking gets installed correctly the first time, and page speed is treated as a paid media cost rather than a developer preference. But you can hire us for the build alone, and plenty do.
What if we already have a developer?
That is fine and often the right setup. We work alongside in-house developers regularly - most commonly on the audit and the plan, which the internal team then implements. We will say plainly when your existing developer is the better person for a piece of work.
What if we're not the right fit?
We will tell you on the call. We turn down work that is not a fit - usually because a premium theme and a weekend would genuinely get you there, or because the budget cannot support the scope described. Either way you will leave the call knowing what to do next, including when that is nothing.
What happens on the strategy call?
30 minutes. We look at your store, your app stack and what is actually costing you speed and sales, then tell you exactly what we would do and roughly what it would cost. If we are a fit, we scope it. If not, no hard feelings - no follow-up sequence, no pressure.
Let's turn your browsers into buyers.
30 minutes. We'll look at your store, your app stack, and where it's actually losing speed and sales - then tell you exactly what we'd do. Pick a time.
