Google local services ads management
Pay for leads,
not clicks.
Local Services Ads show your business prominently in Google Search and Maps for the services and areas you choose, with the Google Verified badge, and you pay per lead rather than per click. They're also easy to leave running unmanaged: verification stalls, missed calls drag your ranking down, and the wrong job types eat the budget. We set up and manage Local Services Ads for home service businesses in the US and UK, and judge them on booked jobs.
Does your trade
qualify?
Local Services Ads only run for certain service categories, and the list differs by country. In the UK, Google lists trades from plumbers, electricians, roofers and HVAC to pest control, cleaning, landscaping and garage doors, while locksmiths and painters appear on the US list but not the UK one. If your category qualifies, the questions that decide results are verification, who answers the phone, and which jobs you pay for.
Through screening without stalls
Google's screening varies by category and country and can include background, business registration, insurance and license checks. In the UK, home services need a business registration check, public liability insurance and a license where one applies. Google says it takes 3 to 4 weeks on average once documents are in, and we keep it moving.
Every lead checked and marked
You pay per valid lead: an answered call, a missed call in business hours that lasts over 20 seconds, a message or a voicemail. We review every lead, mark the ones that booked, and report poor ones through Google's feedback survey. Automatic credits exist in the US and Canada, but not for UK advertisers.
What moves you up
Google ranks Local Services Ads on your bid and your profile quality: responsiveness, rating, number of reviews, response time, photos and the checks you've completed. Missed calls count against you. We work on all of it, not just the bid.
The right bid mode
A weekly budget with a monthly cap, and one of Google's bid modes: Maximize leads, a target cost per lead, or a manual maximum per lead. US accounts are moving into Google Ads as Performance Max with pay-per-lead goals, where manual bids go away. We manage either setup.
The ads aren't the problem.
The missed calls are.
Most Local Services Ads accounts we see were set up once and left alone. Verification sits half-finished, calls go unanswered, reviews stall, and nobody checks which leads became jobs. Here's what we usually find, and what a managed account does instead.
What's draining your budget
- Verification stuck on one missing insurance or license document
- Missed calls in business hours, charged as leads and hurting ranking
- Job types and service areas left wide open, so leads arrive for unwanted work
- Business hours that don't match when anyone can answer
- No new reviews on the Business Profile for months
- Leads never marked as booked, so nobody knows what a job costs
- Poor leads paid for without any feedback to Google
- Old Google Guaranteed wording still on the website
What we install instead
- Verification documents prepared and submitted in one go
- Ad schedule and business hours set to when calls get answered
- Job types and service areas narrowed to the work you want
- Calls and messages answered fast, because Google measures it
- A steady review routine on your Google Business Profile
- Every lead marked, so cost per booked job is a real number
- Poor leads reported through Google's feedback survey
- Website and listings updated to the Google Verified badge
The founders we work with.
Here's what founders say after working with us - unfiltered.
They built our Shopify store from sketch to polish, and the ads keep bringing in people who actually appreciate the product. Fast, thoughtful, no guessing games. For a brand that sweats the small stuff, having a partner who gets that is a big deal.
Our old site was clunky and our ads were bleeding cash. Their team stepped in, rebuilt everything, and suddenly shoppers could buy without any fuss. They explain the numbers in plain language and always lay out the next move. First agency that's truly felt like part of our crew.
NCMborz rebuilt our site, then unleashed focused Meta and Google ads that filled coaching calendars fast. Branding, traffic, engagement, revenue - every dot now connects and we speak to ideal students. They made bold decisions feel easy with calm, data-backed reasoning.
Six systems.

What are Google Local Services Ads?
Pay-per-lead ads for local service businesses that show in Google Search and Maps for the services and areas you choose. Customers call, message or, in the US and Canada, book you straight from the ad, and businesses that pass Google's screening show the Google Verified badge.
How much do Local Services Ads cost?
You pay per valid lead, and Google says lead prices vary with your location, the job type, the type of lead and your bid mode. Google doesn't set a minimum budget, but it suggests budgeting for at least 10 leads a week with Maximize leads. Our management runs $500-$2,000 a month on top, month-to-month.
What happened to the Google Guaranteed badge?
Google replaced its badges with a single Google Verified badge and discontinued the money-back guarantee that came with Google Guaranteed, announced as effective October 20, 2025. Existing advertisers who had completed verification moved to the new badge automatically.
Are Local Services Ads available in the UK?
Yes, for the categories Google lists, including plumbers, electricians, roofers, HVAC, pest control, cleaning, landscaping and garage door services. Some legal and estate agent categories are available in Greater London only. Booking leads and automatic lead credits aren't offered to UK advertisers.
What counts as a lead I pay for?
An answered call, a call you return and speak on, a missed call during business hours where the customer stays on the line for more than 20 seconds, a text or email, a voicemail, or a booking request in the US and Canada. Follow-up contact from the same customer within 15 days isn't charged again.
Can I get money back for bad leads?
In the US and Canada, Google reassesses charged leads and may credit low-quality ones automatically, usually within 30 days. Those credits aren't available to advertisers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, which includes the UK. Everywhere, you can rate a poor lead through Google's feedback survey.
How long does verification take?
Google says the process takes 3 to 4 weeks on average after you submit your documents. Some businesses can run pre-badge ads once the first checks pass, but those show below fully verified providers.
What decides where my Local Services ad ranks?
Google says it ranks ads on your bid and your profile quality, including how responsive you are, your rating, number of reviews, average response time, photos and the checks you've completed. Missed calls and serious negative feedback can push you down.
Are Local Services Ads moving into Google Ads?
Yes. Google is moving them into Google Ads as Performance Max campaigns with pay-per-lead goals: US accounts from August 2026, and non-US accounts, including the UK, in 2027. You still pay per lead and appear in the same places, but manual bidding goes and weekly budgets become daily ones.
Should we run Local Services Ads or Google Search ads?
Often both. Local Services Ads charge per lead and don't use keywords, while Search ads let you choose the exact searches and the landing page. Google itself recommends running pay-per-lead campaigns alongside Search.
What access do you need to our account?
Access through a Google Ads manager account, with administrative rights so we can edit bidding and budget. The account, the leads and the reviews stay in your name.
