Most visitors are
standing in a car park.
Someone needs a plumber, a dentist or an electrician, and they are looking at your site on a phone with one bar of signal and three competitor tabs open. That is the real design brief. Everything else - the gallery, the mission statement, the parallax - is decoration if it delays the call.
What are they trying
to do right now?
An emergency call-out, a booked consultation and a quote request are three different visits with three different urgencies. A site that treats them identically makes the urgent one wait - and urgency is the only kind of visitor who was never going to wait.
One tap, not four
Click-to-call in the header where a thumb reaches, booking wired to your actual calendar, and a form short enough to complete standing up. Every extra step between arriving and contacting you is measurable in lost jobs.
One page per thing you sell
Someone searching for emergency drain clearance should land on a page about emergency drain clearance, not a homepage listing eleven services. This is also what makes paid search affordable, because relevance is what you are billed on.
Where you actually work
Genuine pages for the towns and neighbourhoods you serve, with real content about working there - not fifty near-identical pages with the place name swapped, which search engines have recognised and discounted for years.
Why you and not the other three
Reviews, credentials, licences, insurance, real photos of real people and real work. Local buyers are choosing between strangers who all claim the same things, and specificity is the only thing that separates you.
Your website isn't ugly.
It's too slow to matter.
Every local owner we talk to says a version of the same thing: "we get visitors but the phone doesn't ring." The site is usually not ugly. It is usually just slow, hard to call, and written about the company rather than the job. Here's what's happening - and what a properly built local site does instead.
What's costing you the call
- A phone number in an image, or in the footer, or nowhere a thumb can reach
- A hero slider that pushes everything useful below the fold on a phone
- Five seconds to first paint on a mobile connection, while three competitor tabs load faster
- One page listing eleven services, so every ad and every search lands somewhere generic
- Fifty location pages with only the town name changed, adding nothing and fooling nobody
- A contact form asking for eleven fields before someone can ask a simple question
- No reviews, no credentials, no photographs of the actual team or the actual work
- Opening hours, service area and pricing nowhere to be found on the whole site
What we build instead
- Click-to-call fixed where a thumb naturally sits, on every page
- A page for every service you actually sell, matching what people search
- Genuine service-area pages with real local content, only for areas you truly serve
- Sub-two-second loads on a mid-range phone, measured on real devices
- Booking wired to your calendar, and forms short enough to finish standing up
- Reviews, credentials and licences placed where the decision is actually made
- Real photography of your team and your work, because stock photos read as a stock business
- Hours, service area and pricing guidance stated plainly rather than hidden behind an enquiry
The founders we work with.
Here's what founders say after working with us - unfiltered.
NCMborz rebuilt our site, then unleashed focused Meta and Google ads that filled coaching calendars fast. Branding, traffic, engagement, revenue - every dot now connects and we speak to ideal students. They made bold decisions feel easy with calm, data-backed reasoning.
Our old site was clunky and our ads were bleeding cash. Their team stepped in, rebuilt everything, and suddenly shoppers could buy without any fuss. They explain the numbers in plain language and always lay out the next move. First agency that's truly felt like part of our crew.
They built our Shopify store from sketch to polish, and the ads keep bringing in people who actually appreciate the product. Fast, thoughtful, no guessing games. For a brand that sweats the small stuff, having a partner who gets that is a big deal.
Six systems.
One site that gets called.
This is the exact build order for every local site we take on - whether you sell emergency call-outs, booked consultations or high-value projects. Skip any one of these and the rest stops working.
Pricing, scoped to you.
No fixed packages. We scope the work to your services, your service area and what you're running now, then quote it on the call – so you only pay for what you actually need.
- Month-to-month · No setup fees · No long-term contracts
- Scoped to your services, area and current site – not a fixed package
- You own the site, the code and the content outright
ALL PRICES IN USD · PROJECT WORK QUOTED SEPARATELY FROM RETAINERS
NCMborz vs. the alternatives
You've got options. Here's how we stack up against what most local owners try first.
Here's exactly what you get.
No mystery, no "we'll get back to you." Every stage below ends with something delivered - and you see the site on staging long before anyone else sees it live.
Strategy call & access
A 30-minute call to map the services you want more of, your service area, and how enquiries reach you today. Hosting and analytics access requested within 24 hours.
Audit & plan
Current site benchmarked on a real phone, existing rankings catalogued so nothing is lost, service and area structure planned, and the enquiry path mapped end to end.
Build on staging
Everything built and reviewed on staging, never on the live site. You see it on your own phone as it comes together, which is the only review that matters here.
Launch & verify
Redirects checked, rankings monitored, call and form tracking confirmed with real test enquiries, speed re-measured on real devices, and a walkthrough for your team.
We get asked these every week.
Does a local business really need a custom site?
Not always, and we will say so. If you need a presence and a phone number, a good template on a decent platform is a legitimate answer and we would rather tell you that than sell you a build. Custom earns its place when you are running paid traffic, competing for several services, covering multiple areas or multiple locations - situations where structure and speed directly change what the site earns.
How important is mobile really?
For local search it is the whole game. The overwhelming majority of "near me" and emergency searches happen on a phone, frequently on a poor connection and frequently while the person is standing somewhere inconvenient. We design on a phone first and measure on real mid-range devices rather than on a fast laptop, because a site that is quick in the studio and slow in a car park is a slow site.
Should we have a page for every town we serve?
For the areas you genuinely serve and can write honestly about, yes. For fifty towns with only the name swapped, no - that pattern has been recognised and discounted for years, and at scale it risks being treated as spam. The test is simple: if the page would not be useful to someone in that town, it should not exist.
Will a new site hurt our Google rankings?
Not if it is planned properly, though expect brief volatility. The risk is never the design - it is URLs changing without redirects. We catalogue what currently ranks before we start, preserve the URL structure where it is sound, redirect deliberately where it changes, and watch Search Console through launch.
How do you handle multiple locations?
Each location gets its own genuine page with its own address, hours, team and reviews, structured with the right schema so search engines can tell them apart. The mistake is one page listing every branch, which competes with itself and gives no location enough substance to rank.
Can we update it ourselves?
Yes, and for a local business that matters more than most - hours change, a service gets added, a team member leaves. We build so those edits are straightforward and hand over a walkthrough. If you need a developer to change your opening hours, the build was done badly.
Do you connect it to our Google Business Profile?
Yes. The site and your Business Profile should agree exactly on name, address, phone and hours, because inconsistency between them is a common and entirely avoidable drag on local visibility. We also implement local business and service schema so the connection is explicit rather than inferred.
How fast should the site be?
Fast enough that someone on a mobile connection sees something useful in about two seconds and can call you without waiting for the rest. We take a baseline on a real mid-range phone before we start and measure again at launch, so the improvement is a number rather than a claim.
Should we show our prices?
Usually at least a range or a starting figure. Local buyers are comparing several providers and the ones who hide pricing entirely get filtered out of the shortlist before they get a chance to explain. If your work genuinely varies too much for a fixed price, say what it depends on - that is far better than silence.
Do you handle ads and SEO too?
We do, and for local work the overlap is unusually direct: the service pages a site needs to convert are the same pages paid search needs to be affordable, and Business Profile work sits alongside both. You can also hire us for the build alone.
How long does it take?
A straightforward local site is typically two to four weeks. More services, more locations or a migration from an old platform pushes it toward six. We will give you a real date on the call rather than an optimistic one.
What if we're not the right fit?
We will tell you on the call. We turn this work down when a template would genuinely serve you as well - it happens more often than you might expect for a single-service business in a quiet area. Either way you will leave knowing what to do next, including when that is nothing.
What happens on the strategy call?
30 minutes. We look at your site on a phone, time how long it takes to load and how many taps it takes to call you, and tell you exactly what we would do and roughly what it would cost. If we are a fit, we scope it. If not, no hard feelings - no follow-up sequence, no pressure.
Let's build the site your business deserves.
30 minutes. We'll look at your site on a phone, time how long it takes to load and to call you, and tell you exactly what we'd do. Pick a time.
