Website speed optimization services
Slow on a phone
is slow for most of your visitors.
Most visitors to a small business site arrive on a phone, often on a patchy signal. If the page takes too long, they go back and tap the next result. We measure your site's speed the way Google does, from real visitors, find what's slowing the pages that matter, and fix it in order: images, scripts, fonts, caching and hosting.
One speed test
doesn't tell you much.
A single run of a speed tool is a lab test on one device. Google judges Core Web Vitals on real visitors over the previous 28 days, at the 75th percentile, so the slowest quarter of visits counts. Here's what we measure, and what each number means.
Good is 2.5 seconds or less
How long until the main content appears. Usually slowed by oversized images, slow hosting or the page waiting on scripts and fonts.
Good is 200 milliseconds or less
How quickly the page reacts when someone taps or types. It replaced First Input Delay as a Core Web Vital in March 2024, and heavy scripts are the usual cause.
Good is 0.1 or less
How much the layout jumps while it loads. Images without set sizes, late banners and injected widgets push content around.
The weight you didn't write
Chat widgets, tag managers, booking embeds, review badges and old tracking tags. Each one costs time, and many sites run tags nobody uses any more.
Every add-on
made it a little slower.
Sites rarely launch slow. They get slow: a plugin here, a chat widget there, photos uploaded straight from a camera. Here's what we usually find.
What slows small business sites
- Photos uploaded at camera size
- Five tracking tags where two would do
- A chat or booking widget loading on every page
- Fonts in four weights nobody uses
- No caching, or a plugin fighting the host's own
- Cheap shared hosting at the busiest times
What we fix
- Images resized, compressed and given set dimensions
- Tags audited, merged or removed
- Widgets loaded only where they're used, or after the page
- Fonts trimmed to what the design needs
- One caching setup that suits the host
- Hosting changed only when the numbers say so
The founders we work with.
Here's what founders say after working with us - unfiltered.
Our old site was clunky and our ads were bleeding cash. Their team stepped in, rebuilt everything, and suddenly shoppers could buy without any fuss. They explain the numbers in plain language and always lay out the next move. First agency that's truly felt like part of our crew.
They built our Shopify store from sketch to polish, and the ads keep bringing in people who actually appreciate the product. Fast, thoughtful, no guessing games. For a brand that sweats the small stuff, having a partner who gets that is a big deal.
NCMborz rebuilt our site, then unleashed focused Meta and Google ads that filled coaching calendars fast. Branding, traffic, engagement, revenue - every dot now connects and we speak to ideal students. They made bold decisions feel easy with calm, data-backed reasoning.
Six systems.
Measure, fix, measure again.
How a speed project runs. We fix what the data points at, not a generic checklist.
Pricing, scoped to you.
Priced on the site, not a stopwatch. A ten-page brochure site and a large site with booking, membership and a dozen plugins need different amounts of work, so we agree the scope in writing after we've looked at the data.
- Measured on real visitors, before and after
- Fixes ranked by what slows the pages that matter
- Scoped to your platform and templates
- Every change is yours to keep, documented

We get asked these every week.
Have you published a speed optimization case study?
Not for a service business site, and we won't put speed results here that we can't show you. The approach on this page is what you'd get, and the call is the place to test it.
Will a faster site rank higher on Google?
It can help, but it isn't a shortcut. Google says Core Web Vitals are used by its ranking systems, and also that good scores don't guarantee top rankings, because relevant, helpful content comes first. The surer payoff is visitors who stay and get in touch.
What are good Core Web Vitals scores?
Google's thresholds are a Largest Contentful Paint of 2.5 seconds or less, an Interaction to Next Paint of 200 milliseconds or less, and a Cumulative Layout Shift of 0.1 or less, measured at the 75th percentile of page loads.
Why does PageSpeed Insights show two different sets of numbers?
One is field data from real visitors over the previous 28 days, the other a lab test on one simulated device. Google's assessment uses field data, which is why we work from it when there's enough traffic.
Is this different from your ecommerce speed work?
Yes. Ecommerce speed work deals with product pages, apps and checkout. This page is for service business, practice and B2B sites, where the usual culprits are widgets, tags, images and hosting.
Do we need to change host?
Sometimes, but not first. Most slow sites we see are slowed by images and scripts. We only recommend a move when the server response time is the problem after everything else is fixed.
How much does speed optimization cost?
Projects start at $1,200, fixed scope, agreed in writing. Most of our website projects run $1,200-$15,000, and speed work sits at the lower end.
What happens on the strategy call?
Half an hour on your real-visitor data and the pages that bring enquiries, with the first fixes we'd make and a rough price.
A site that loads before they leave.
30 minutes. We'll pull your real-visitor speed data, show you what's slowing the pages that matter, and tell you what we'd fix first. Pick a time.
