Website maintenance services
Nobody notices maintenance.
Until the site goes down.
A business website needs looking after: software updates, backups, security checks, and the small changes that pile up. Skip them and a plugin breaks the contact form, the site slows down, or it gets hacked, usually when you're busiest. We maintain WordPress, Squarespace, Wix and custom sites every month, whoever built them, and tell you in plain English what we did.
What needs looking after
depends on the build.
A WordPress site and a Squarespace site need different care. On WordPress, you or whoever looks after it is responsible for the software. On hosted builders the platform patches itself, and the work is everything else. Here's what we look after on each.
Core, theme and plugins
Updates tried on a staging copy first, a backup before every change, and plugins you no longer use removed. Plugins are where the risk is: Patchstack found 91% of new WordPress vulnerabilities in 2025 were in plugins.
The platform patches, you maintain
The platform runs hosting and security, so care means the rest: forms that still deliver, content that's current, broken links fixed, and moves such as Squarespace 7.0 to 7.1, which don't happen automatically.
Watched, not hoped for
Uptime monitoring, malware scans, SSL renewals, and a PHP version that still gets security fixes. If something goes wrong, we restore from backup and find the cause.
The list that never gets done
Text and price updates, a new team member, a new page or offer. A set amount of change time every month, so small jobs don't wait for a project.
Nobody's touched the site in a year.
It shows.
Most small business sites we look at were built, launched and then left. Updates pile up, backups were never tested, and the contact form quietly stopped sending months ago. Here's what we usually find, and what a plan covers.
What an unmaintained site risks
- Dozens of plugin and theme updates waiting
- Backups that have never been test-restored
- A PHP version past the end of its security fixes
- A contact form that stopped sending months ago
- Pages that slowed down with every add-on
- Small edits waiting weeks for a developer
What a plan covers
- Updates tested on a copy of the site before they go live
- Backups stored off the server, with restores tested
- A PHP version and server software that still get fixes
- Forms and key pages checked every month
- Page speed checked monthly and fixed when it slips
- Change time every month for small edits
The founders we work with.
Here's what founders say after working with us - unfiltered.
Our old site was clunky and our ads were bleeding cash. Their team stepped in, rebuilt everything, and suddenly shoppers could buy without any fuss. They explain the numbers in plain language and always lay out the next move. First agency that's truly felt like part of our crew.
NCMborz rebuilt our site, then unleashed focused Meta and Google ads that filled coaching calendars fast. Branding, traffic, engagement, revenue - every dot now connects and we speak to ideal students. They made bold decisions feel easy with calm, data-backed reasoning.
They built our Shopify store from sketch to polish, and the ads keep bringing in people who actually appreciate the product. Fast, thoughtful, no guessing games. For a brand that sweats the small stuff, having a partner who gets that is a big deal.
Six systems.
One looked-after website.
This is what happens on a maintenance plan. The first month includes a full check and fixing anything urgent.
Pricing, scoped to you.
Priced on the platform and how much changes. A brochure site on Squarespace needs less than a busy WordPress site with bookings and a dozen plugins, so we confirm the plan after a look at the site.
- Updates, backups, security checks and change time
- Cancel any month: no lock-in
- Scoped to your platform and change time
- Hosting, domain and logins stay in your name

NCMborz vs. the alternatives
Businesses usually weigh three ways to keep a site running. Here's how they compare.
Here's exactly what you get.
The first month, then every month after it.
Access & check
Logins and hosting access set up in your name, and the full site check done.
Urgent fixes
Security and update backlog cleared, backups set up and a restore tested.
Routine starts
Monitoring switched on and the first round of change requests done.
Every month
Updates, checks, small changes and a report, month after month.
What we have written on what a website costs.
We get asked these every week.
Will you look after a site someone else built?
Yes, and most of the sites we're asked to maintain were built by someone else. The first month includes a full check, so we know what we're taking on before the routine starts.
Is this the same as your store maintenance plan?
No. This plan is for business websites. Online stores need more each month, such as checkout testing and payment and app updates, and those are covered by our ecommerce maintenance plans.
Doesn't WordPress update itself?
The core can. Sites installed since WordPress 5.6 update their core automatically by default. Plugins and themes are another matter, and that's where nearly all the risk sits: of 11,334 new WordPress vulnerabilities Patchstack recorded in 2025, only 6 were in core. An update that clashes with a plugin can also break a form or a page, so we try updates on a copy of the site first.
Why does the PHP version matter?
PHP is the language WordPress runs on. Each version gets security fixes for a fixed period and then none. PHP 8.1 stopped getting them at the end of 2025, and PHP 8.2 stops at the end of 2026. WordPress recommends PHP 8.3 or later, and a site on an unsupported version has holes that never get patched.
Do Squarespace and Wix sites need maintenance?
Less, but some. The platforms handle hosting, security and software updates themselves. Someone still has to keep forms working, content current, links unbroken and pages quick to load, and on Squarespace, moving an older 7.0 site to 7.1 is a manual job.
What happens if the site goes down or gets hacked?
Monitoring alerts us, so we usually know before you do. We restore from a clean backup, find how it happened and close the gap, then explain what happened in plain English.
How much does website maintenance cost?
Our plans start at $450 a month with no lock-in. The price depends on the platform and how much change time you need each month.
What happens on the strategy call?
Half an hour. We look at what your site runs on, how it's backed up and what's overdue, and tell you what a plan would cover.
A website someone looks after.
30 minutes. We'll look at your site's updates, backups and weak spots, and tell you what a plan would cover. Pick a time.
